The main reason is my family, just venting but better here than blowing up at a customer or staff member.
1. Collegues of my parents who say "yeah you should really do a degree!" Even though they know nothing about me and if they had asked me about myself rather than talking down to me would have known that I have an undergrad degree, 2 graduate certificates and a Masters. Just because my brother is now doing a Masters at the age of 30 in a preferred field of my parents he gets endless praise and all expenses paid by my parent even though he also gets a grant and largely spends all his money on alcohol. Meanwhile when I did my masters at 23 I was completely cut off and could barely afford food. Yet no one seems to want to praise me for that just because it was a subject I wanted to do.
2. Colleagues of my parents who tell me I should try a food I really hate and go on and on about it "you should try it, you will love it!" I won't I have tried it three+ times just to shut people up mashed potatoes, carrots and parsnips are nasty and I have been telling you this since I was three years of age I know what I like and I hate those. Yet since they are the only vegetable that my brother will eat they always still end up on my plate when we are having a family meal since my brother eats like a small child.
3. People who feign illiteracy for instance "how much is this?" When there is a big yellow or orange price sticker on it saying £3.99 or when there is a sign up saying all single disc DVDs 2 for £8 and someone comes up to you with two boxsets and are then surprised when you tell them that will be £15 per boxset and want to see the manager, or someone who expects to get a full refund for an object when (a) it looks like a dog has eaten half of it and (b) they don't have a receipt.
4.Lazy or daft people who use kickstarter or a group funding site, get up off your ass and do it yourself why should you expect other people to fund you when you have no get up and go, fund it yourself if you don't have the initial motivation to get the ball rolling on your own how do you ever expect to go on with ought constant handouts from others? Give a man a fish or teach him how to fish and all that.
5. People who say they can't live with ought a phone, some part of me wishes strongly that an electronic wave will wipe out all mobile phone technology so that people don't waste half their life looking at a tiny screen waiting for someone to retweet or add a like on facebook. If you took all the combined the total time someone looks at their phone over a period of a year am sure people lose over a fortnight of their life.
6. Religion in general, if you believe in something that's fine, but I don't so don't try to drag me into it or I will bring up all of its short comings.
7. I am female, have a shaved head and don't wear make up or skirts, I am not sick and I am not gay I just like being me, a masculine female that likes digging up home grown potatoes, blowing my nose like a foghorn and working until my back aches. If you don't go to bed wrecked everyday I really don't think you have made the best use of time. If you give me a dirty look will probably just grin or ignore you, just because you are shallow and are into your stereotypes docent mean that I have to be. So quite trying to make people feel inferior to you why can't you just be happy when others show individuality? We are always told in school to be yourself and create your own path so why shouldn't this follow through as an adult?
End of rant for now, thanks for reading, hopefully will get round to more crafting soon!
