30 Days Until Christmas!

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 24, 2012, 3:03 PM

So how is everyone's Christmas shopping going?

Not long now, so much to do so little time, just back from visiting my parents in London and leaving some stuff over for the Expo in May and its ridiculously busy and crazy with the amount of people going back and forth.

Sort of looking forward to the big Christmas rush being over have graduation to do on the 17th since I passed my masters so family is all coming over for a party and before that Christmas party with friends of family, picking up food for party, picking up turkey, work Christmas dinner to deal with. On the other hand I do have around 80% of my Christmas present shopping done.

One wonders however when I will have time to make anything for the expo though with work and trying to get everything sorted out.

How is everyone else coping with Christmas stress and exams and such if you have them?

Features and points up for grabs! Pokemon theme

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 18, 2012, 3:40 AM

As with last time I will be offering 3 art features to the next 5 people who comment here as well as 5 points per person.

The only catch is you have to be a watcher already or a new watcher when you are commenting. Though I would appreciate it if you had at least 3 pieces of good quality artwork and if you have Pokemon art work or related.

This is all in good fun of supporting other artists. Features are for 3 weeks to a month.

Features and points up for grabs!

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 25, 2012, 10:35 AM

So now that I have a premium account I thought that I would help some other artists out (: so the first 5 people to make a comment on this journal will get featured in it, hopefully I will be able to figure it out without too much trouble. They will also receive 2 points from me. I know that's not a lot but times are hard and all that so hopefully it will help people in the long run.

CONDITIONS

You must be watching me already and you must have at least 10 deviations as there is no point me featuring someone that doesn't have any artwork to show off.

This months Feautures please give them lots of feedback and support (:

Premium Membership (:

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 24, 2012, 3:17 PM

So I spent around a year filling in surveys for random research sites and got rewarded with £20 of paypal credits.o thought what better way to spend them than on deviantart (:

Just started working at a spar petrol station in Belfast since I need some money after doing my masters. Though everyone seems very nice so far but have my first 6am shift this week which lasts until 3pm lets hope I don't make too many mistakes due to sleep deprevation.

Have been working on some new things that I will need to take pictures of and upload in the near future and have about 3/4 commissions that I will need to get started in the next wee while also.

Though my biggest worry at the moment is the ever likelyhood that I will be spending Christmas on my own as the rest of my family have migrated to England and I remain in Northern Ireland but we shall see what happens with work.

One day premium membership?Who gave me this?

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 7, 2012, 6:52 AM

Hi all for some reason I have a premium member ship for one day! Whoever gave me this thank you so much it is greatly appreciated. Also if this was a mistake that deviantart made that is fine too (:

Would just like to promote a group called CatchEmPoints too as they have donated 21 points to me so far which was very generous of them, anyone can apply to have points donated providing you do a little work for other artists their page [link]

On another note I am currently in the process of making all the angels from Neon Genesis Evangelion in chibi form for a large project to be revealed in time. I will upload pictures on progress daily or every other day (:

I will be showing my items off again at the slayers 24 event next week which organizes the annual Q-CON video game and anime convention.

The week after I will be attending NOM-CON for the first time as an atendee since I was declined a table this year to see Tiffany Grant! The voice actor of Asuka from Evangelion. Perhaps some people can see where I am going with my chibi angels (:

In September I shall also be sharing a table at titancon with Kitsuna (:

So just realised how long its been since I updated this, it has been quite a while!

Lots has happened since February I got locked inside my own bedroom while everyone else was outside of the country and had to call my parents to call my granda and my dads work collegue to get me out after being trapped for 14 hours lol. I couldnt have let the fire department see me half dressed lol.

Then I had birds trapped in my built in storage area/wardrobe (dont ask me how they got there) which I had to help escourt out the bedroom window near getting hit up the face in the process.

I now have pretty much the run of the house now and all the chores it brings with it now that all my family have emigrated over to the mainland for work leaving me to hold down the fort.

Q-CON was epic! An overused phrase I know, But it was! I have never done so well at a convention before selling wise I am sold out of so much stuff! Which is a good thing since I didnt get a table at Nom-con this year, though I will be appearing at Titancon [link] In September and will be sharing a table with the lovely Kitsuna07 [link]

I will have some new deviations up very shortly (:

Hi everybody hope you are all well. Just back from London Anime Con 4 and I met some really interesting and lovely people and can recommend lots of great, inexpensive places to eat should anybody wish to attend in the future. Unfortunately I forgot to bring a memory card from my camera so didnt get any pictures taken but lots of other people did so I am sure they will be accessable from the website shortly.

For the first time I made chibi ponies [link] and Tachikomas [link] , I sold all of the original six apart from pinkie pie and apple jack and only have one Tachikoma left which is reserved already for someone so I think my models went down pretty well.

I was actually thinking of having a build a pony workshop at Q-CON 2012 if I can get myself a table and Nom-con if I can as I now have air dry clay for on the spot commissions. So people just come and decide what colour of pony they want, hair hair and body wise as well as my wide choice of cutie marks which are pre made. Then I make them a chibi pony for £5/6 euro.

I was also thinking of designing some original characters too like merponies/seaponies with long fish like tails and fins and maybe a nightmare before Christmas pony just for the sheer fun and satisfaction for it once I get some coursework done.

Will definitely be making more Tachikomas too in a variety of colours. People were requesting the yellow and red from the original ghost in the shell stand-alone complex series.

In other news I am now pretty sick, either from like of sleep or catching something on the tubes. I have a bad cold and I get a really horrible pain in my side every time I cough, sneeze or laugh. So I think I am need of a long rest tomorrow.

Havn't updated this in ages!

So next convention is London anime con [link] from the 11-12 full table for myself for the weekend. So have some new otaku nails and steam punk stuff on the go for this. Very happy with them so far and hope to make lots of new friends and meet lots of new people.

Was going to go to heroes and legend's as a dealer but they told me they would charge £75-£150 per day and would need public liability insurance over over £90. So being an unsponsered masters student there was no way I could afford that.

Study wise I am off for another two weeks and may head over to London two weekends before just for a mini holiday with my mum to check out my dads new accomodation (apparently its lovely).

I am loving my little break however and intend to get a lot more crafting done in the mean time I have a few lists that I have in mind to complete and will take on any commissions for the next month or so. They are now at full price again however but will make anything from chobit ears to yu gi oh mellenium items. (not sure if that is how to spell mellenium but you get the gist I am sure).

Have pre-regged for nom-con and intend to go to Q-Con and Titan-con again as I really enjoyed those as well as the company.

Health wise I am pretty exhausted after getting two bits of coursework in over Christmas and have a wierd fluttering in my mid abdomin near my lowest rib, not that it is painful just odd so I think I may need to change doctors over the next little while.

I don't have the ability to make a poll but need every bodies help in deciding whether or not to do some new things so if people think these ideas would go down well at future conventions could you please comment?

-My little pony models and badges
-More Pokemon models or would they look cuter in badge form?
-DC comic character badges like chibi batman and robin faces
-Marvel comic faces like chibi cyclops or hulk in badge form?
-Adventure time and regular show badges
-More complex models that maybe contain 2 or more characters interacting like a freeze frame model?
-Shonen Jump chibi face badges like dragon ballz and naruto

All feedback is appreciated, I will continue to do the characters that I usually do but think I need to diversify just a little bit with upcoming conventions.

But anyway have my table and flights booked for London anime con in February [link]

I also plan on doing a craft fair in Lisburn Parish Hall on the 18th of December, need to get my cheque off to them on Monday but if anybody wanted to come see my stuff and lived i the Belfast/ Lisburn area your company would be very much appreciated, everything will still be half price until the new year.

Lastly and I am keeping a real close eye on this one. There is going to be a new convention called heroes and legends happening in the W5 part of the odyssey arena in February also, aparently its free in but I am still waiting for them to release information on art and dealer stalls. [link]

If anybody thinks I should try out some other things I will be totally open to suggestions over Christmas and ill be wanting to challenge myself.

If anybody wants to share info on that I would be glad to hear it as it seems to just have appeared out of the wood work.

I have also decided to totally geek out and try to do as much of my masters in cultural heritage and museum studies on anime, and how it can visualise the ideas and issues of heritage visually. So I shall some have fun ranting about anime and its culture to the entire class, I am hoping they will be much more into the inner meanings of eva and ghost in the shell than my GCSE English class was.

Of course I was tempted to just play the animated music video of pearl jams do the  evolution.[link]

So I haven't updated in a really long time because I have been super busy with uni and family stuff.

My uncle was diagnosed with throat cancer and lives all the way over in Australia so my aunt and cousin were back and forth from here to there numerous times trying to arrange coming back to Northern Ireland permanently, but thankfully he has been given the ok all clear for now and can talk again.

We also had five Austrians staying with so I was evicted from my big warm double bed for a while and then again when my dad's friends and family came over from Scotland to stay, I then got the flu jab and got very sick and flusish. So I was knocked out for a while.

Then had two pieces of coursework for university and two fieldtrips to Cultra and Derry so pooped. Was pretty happy that I got 60/100 in my first assignment though that guarantees me at least 1% over all in my masters which rests my mind at ease just a little lol.

In other news I am in the process of booking a table at London anime con in February since my dad is moving over there for his new job I get a whole new area to investigate in terms of conventions and geekyness. So woo new chance to meet new people and display my work in a whole new area so yay! Just have to keep on top of coursework and focus!

Also have a new found love for Kodacha I have never yelped "that's so cute!" So many times at an anime before so I recommend watching it. I so love anime from the 90s!

I will be attempting to make all the millennium items from yu-gi-oh! In the near future too so if you are a fan please tell me what you think.

Second week of university now completed and back with jumping clay things are almost back on track. Have a book to start my first essay this week and have an idea already for my second assignment.

Otherwise I have no more conventions or sales events planned so from now until Christmas for every badge purchased you will get a free phone charm free as well as 10% off multiple purchases. I am also open for commissions providing they aren't badges as I a all out of badge backs for the moment but would still make charms, models and items like mellenium rings and even larger models.

I am also very much open to trades on items I have already made.

All items range in price from £3-£35 respectively dependingn the size of item you want.

I also have almost all my christmas shopping done and am on the look out for a part time job so if anyone knows of any in Belfast please keep me posted.

Not much else to report apart from the fact I have an awesome heritage lecturer who is a major doctor who and princess mononoke fan and I look forward to classes next week.

Dissertation and final time sheet handed in at 15.00 hours today. Application sent off to the University of Ulster for the Masters in cultural heritage and museum studies and I have an interview/chat with Jumping clay tomorrow at 10am, brother and girlfriend have usurped my bedroom and everything is agofor move family to England (not me everyone else).

Would just like to say that all my stuff will be on sale for the next three months 10% sale on all multiple purchases, so if you know anybody who likes my style of art think about christmas and birthday presents, its not too early to start!I will also consider comissions in the form of models, charms and mellenium items but I wont be able to make any more badges until next year. Though in saying that the majority of my items are still in stock. I will be attending the following and final conventions and fairs of the years which include the following:

Yellowcon 16th-18th September-Belfast black box

Titancon 24th September- Belfast the europa

craft fair to support the ASBAH spina bifida charity-8th October - Lisburn Parochial Hall near front of bow street mall

And that is alll.....

I would also be interested in negotiating prices if you wanted morethan 3 items but as the convention scene is closing and I wont be selling again until the end of June next year again at the full price this could be your last chance.

I am also still looking for a partner in crime to attend the London Expo with and to exhibit with which would cost £160 for the two of us but 50,000 plus atendees so you would be garaunteed your money back times ten probably so anyone who is interested please get in touch!

It has just been a while and I have been super busy with work, dissertations and conventions. So just a quick update of where I am exhibiting next.

Encore Magee Campus August 27th and 28th of August 2011 [link]

Yellow Fever independent film festival Belfast  16th-18th of September [link]

Titan-con Belfast 24th of September [link]

Possibly some craft fairs from October onwards in Belfast and Lisburn, waiting to hear back from some people but if they are asking for more than 15 quid per table lets face it , its not happening lol.

Secondly I am very keane to be a dealer at MCM London Expo next year or bust and I am looking for partners in crime whos work also does not fall into the comics village category. A big table plus surounding area and two passes costs 160 pounds and as expensive as that sounds if you keep in mind there will be over 50,000 potential customers as opposed to the usual 100-2000 at regular conventions and I would be will to sell stuff on other peoples behalf if they payed towards the table or just wanted to test thier products or art on the larger market.

Unfortunately I am only interested in partners who have art other than comics or prints as technically they would fall in the comics village area which does not get asmuch through flow and second of all I am not allowed to register tables here since I myself to not write literature or comics.

So if you are interested or know anyone who is interested please get back to me (: I would greatly apreciate it.

In other news am very very close to handing in my dissertation! Yays! I have also decided to go for the masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum studies if the uni is still willing to take me on, have yet to send a reply to them (will do it tomorrow,  promise).

So I am now 22 as of the 25th of May, had my sushi, my cake and banana creme brule or whatever you call it. So here is my new updated convention attending list. The nightmares of how things can go wrong on the tables and displays have already started and will probably end at the end of September.
